In 2008,
AFA will offer its special Honors String Quartet program for the second
year. These scholarship groups will have special coaching opportunities
with the AFA 2008 Faculty String Quartet-in-Residence and the Cappelletti-Chao
Duo, culminating in two chamber music recitals during the Conservatory.
Students
will be selected from among all applicants to take part and will receive
special scholarship consideration. Those applicants who wish to be considered
for this program should indicate their interest on their application
form.
Selected
students will receive chamber music coaching opportunities with guest
artists
The Honors
String Quartets will perform two chamber music recitals during the conservatory
season. Works performed by the 2007 Honors String Quartets were the
Brahms String Quartet in A Minor, Op. 51 No. 2 and the Barber
String Quartet, Op. 11.
