Amanda Fisher

Native Houstonian, pioneering non-profit leader, and arts education advocate, Amanda Fisher is entering her 31st year with the nationally renowned organization, AFA, which is Houston’s largest non-profit provider of music education programs for young people, serving over 2,000 students annually. She previously served as AFA’s General Manager and Chief Operating Officer for 25 years before becoming Executive Director in 2018.

Amanda began her career in artistic management and public relations until she joined her lifelong friend, AFA Founder J. Todd Frazier in 1993, to create AFA’s inaugural program –the AFA Summer Music Festival.

An active community volunteer, Amanda has served in volunteer leadership positions across the non-profit and philanthropic sector with groups focusing on education, athletics, social service, performing arts, and visual arts, and is a sought after advisor on best practices, non-profit and artistic management and fundraising.

Amanda and her husband David, Director of Foundations for The Episcopal Diocese of Texas, are the proud parents of Elizabeth, a senior at Sewanee – The University of the South, and Vivian, a freshman at St. Agnes Academy.
