For over twenty years, the AFA Summer Music Festival has offered world-class intensive music-making experiences in a supportive environment for Houston’s young musicians. Led by renowned faculty artists who are outstanding performers and educators, students make noteworthy progress – both individually and in ensembles – that will impact their lives as they continue to grow as musicians.
AFA offers summer programs for students in grades 3-12 in Orchestra, Chamber Music, Piano, Vocal, and Composition departments that last from 1-5 weeks. The curriculum includes activities such as Music Theory, Ear-Training, Chamber Music, Voice Classes, and other enrichment studies.
All students perform as part of the AFA Summer Concert Series, a free and family-friendly concert series that takes place across Houston and that is open to the public.
